Bucket List Inspiration – 600+ Incredible Dreams

Want some time out to dream again?

Here’s your bucket list inspiration.

Today, we had an incredible workshop that gave everyone an hour to talk about their CliftonStrengths and their dreams. Here’s the replay if you want to block out an hour for your own desires and aspirations. If you want to sign up for future training events like this, here’s the free event page.

CliftonStrengths and Dreaming

We layered in CliftonStrengths and how they can interact with your desires. If you know a Gallup-certified CliftonStrengths coach, then you’ve likely heard us talk about Help/Hinder lists.

Here’s what came out as it relates to bucket lists and dreaming.

Strengths that Support our Dreams and Bucket Lists

There were so many good examples. Here are a few:

” Positivity helps me be a possibilities thinker. And, Positivity helps me keep the dream alive.”

“Connectedness and Developer helps dream because I’m surrounded by people who I love and love me.”

“Futuristic helps me visualize what I want.”

“Strategic helps me proceed.”

“Belief keeps me hopeful.”

“Restorative helps me to see what is possible and how to work towards those possibilities.”

“Maximizer makes me want to make things better, even when they’re already going well.”

“Context helps me see where I’ve been and how I can use that to shape the future.”

“Harmony helps me create peace and calmness.”
“Arranger helps me get going.”
“Woo encourages others to come along for the ride.”

Strengths that Squash our Dreams and Bucket Lists

Of course, overused talents can also get in our way. Or, they can simply have other preferences. If you think of your talents as if they have volume dials on them, you can decide when you want to turn them up…and when you want to turn them down.

There were great examples in this camp too. Here are a few:

” Learner wants to keep learning and delays me getting out the other side.”

“Context can get so hung up on background info that it can cripple my progress.”

“Strategic & Maximizer lead me to chase shiny objects.”

“Developer can keep me so focused on others that I neglect myself.”

“Input and intellection can get in the way of clearing out unhelpful mental and physical clutter.”

“Analytical can hinder spontaneity.”

“My dream squasher is Ideation. I get wrapped up in the “what if” thoughts too much – it gets overwhelming!”

600+ Bucket List Ideas: Please Add Yours

On a whim, I created a Public Google Doc with Bucket List Inspiration during the workshop. People posted their bucket list items. Wowza. We have over 600 items, and it just got started with this hour-long workshop. I’ll leave the document open to the public for awhile so that you can add your ideas.

What an inspiration for others. I know I plan to make my own copy, and then get a checklist going. Let’s do this.

Belief in your Dreams

If you need help believing that your dreams have merit and are possible, grab a coach.

It’s what we do. We believe in you until you do.

If you need it, you can borrow the belief from us until yours catches up. Cheers to your strengths, your fun, and your aspirations. We also list Referral Coaches if I’m not the best fit for you.

Dreams Can Get Buried Under Fears

As I opened this workshop, I shared how dreams often get squashed under the weight of fears, doubts, and habits. I had a personal example about my dream of wanting to spend more time outdoors. Hence the outdoor workshop.

I also have a business example that might give you some bucket list inspiration. For a decade, we’ve served corporate clients with CliftonStrengths. As I’ve watched people come in and out of the Gallup-certified strengths coach land – I’ve been sad. Way too many coaches start a business and fizzle out within the first six months.

It seems like most didn’t realize what would be involved in setting up a business, attracting customers, and running the business.

It’s true. There’s so much to do. Yet, I don’t want to see independent coaches, trainers, and speakers leaving their dreams. For years, I’ve thought about supporting them. But my doubts and fears got in the way. It was on my bucket list, yet I ignored it.

I thought it would be silly to leave my snowball of corporate clients to create an additional line of business. I thought I might cannibalize my business. Yet, I kept hearing the voice of one of my coaches who said, “these nudges are clues to your best alignment with what your soul wants.” One day I listened. On a whim, I created Tools for Coaches.

Tools for Coaches quickly became my favorite part of my business. I open up everything to the members – my templates, tools, tech strategies, processes, visual assets, email marketing tools, and more. They can save years of work. It’s a beautiful thing, and I’m sharing here in case your dream of building a coaching business aligns with my dream of serving more coaches.
