Coaching Code of Ethics

Hey. Welcome. We're so psyched to work with you.

First, we're sending you a virtual high five for caring about how you show up in the world.

What to Expect from Coaching

Coaching is different from how many people have experienced us in a training or podcasting environment. With Training events, we're more like givers of information and experience. With Podcasts and other content, we offer you ideas to try on.

With Coaching, it's a lot more about helping you observe your own thoughts. That means you'll experience us as quieter - more of a question-asker. Sometimes it's even frustrating because you just want us to give you advice. Coaching is more about us helping you find the answer you already have inside of you.

It requires more from you because you can't be a passive listener. The clarity can be life-changing. The payoff can be massive!

If You Want Pure Strengths Coaching (in a knowledge-kind-of-way):

Be sure to tell us that you're looking more for a knowledge angle of your CliftonStrengths. Otherwise, we might show up with more questions than answers, in our quest to be supportive as a coach.

How to Prepare for Coaching

  • If you have a problem or a "troublemaker thought," as we call them, tell us right out of the gates.
  • If you're not sure of what to bring up, let us know. We can help. Don't stress if you don't have anything top of mind that day. There's always something to work on. Our brains are like a bottomless well of goodies.

6) I will be alert to signs that a client is no longer benefiting from our coaching relationship, and will respect the client's right to terminate or change the coaching relationship, subject to the provisions of the contract.
